Alice White
Ely, MN
I am a veterinary technician working and living in Northern Minnesota and operating a small kennel of working Siberian huskies near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness.
A lifelong outdoor enthusiast and animal lover growing up in Georgia, I was drawn to mushing at a young age since it combines these two things that I was passionate about. I started at age eleven, bikejoring with a single husky, and from there, I began reaching out to mushers and traveling to climates more suited for running sled dogs.
Twelve years ago, I began handling for Blake and Jennifer Freking at Manitou Crossing Kennels and ended up returning for multiple seasons before branching off to start my own kennel in Ely, closer to my day job. I have run the Beargrease 120 multiple times, as well as the Gunflint Mail Run, Wolftrack Classic, UP 200 and several other mid-distance races.
This year I have once again partnered with the Frekings to run my first Beargrease Marathon with a team comprised of both of my own dogs and some from Manitou Crossing.
