Amanda Bartlett

Laporte, MN

My name is Amanda, and I have been running dogs going on 20 years. I moved out west for 15 years, which is my third winter back in the Midwest. I have wanted to participate in the Beargrease since I saw the race in 2000. Now that I have vacation time at work, I am using it to run races this season. Even though my dogs have moved away from the marathon type dogs, I am glad I can still be apart of the Beargrease. We now focus on “mid-distance” “long sprint” racing of 30-40 miles with 6-10 dog races. I grew up in Eastern Iowa, and my family still lives down there. I hope they can make a race or two as they have been super supportive of me all these years.

What other races have you completed to qualify for the marathon?
