Nolalu, Ontario

I love to work with dogs, it has become a huge part of my life and fits in well with my passion for the outdoors. I share this passion with my wife Rhonda and my 2 amazing kids. When we aren’t training for races we are usually up to some other adventure with the dogs. We have 19 dogs total in our kennel with 14 in training for this season. We enjoy a lot of time spent with our dogs and have been waiting quite a while for a chance to finish the Beargrease Marathon! We have enjoyed our trips to Minnesota over years and are crossing our fingers we can come down and race.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START RUNNING SLED DOGS AND HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU STARTED?

My wife Rhonda’s passion for sled dogs got me hooked in about 2004. I quickly realized that it paired well with my passion for fishing and travelling in the wilderness. I started mushing at 21 years old and we have had our own dogs since 2006.

The “goodest” dogs
Need your help

What a sled dog looks forward to most after a long day of racing is a nice bed of straw! But guess what happened at last year’s race? Someone stole all our straw right before the race start! Thankfully, great fans like you helped us out during the final hour to provide this vital supply for our amazing dogs.

These dogs simply are the best – and we want to be able to continue treating them that way! Donations from fans like you make that possible. Would you find it in your heart to help us out? No amount is too small in sled dog world!
