I started running dogs in northern MN ten years ago. In the beginning was lucky enough to work with and learn from my dear friends Erin Altemus and Matt Schmidt at Sawtooth Racing. After running my first race in Minnesota and absolutely loving it, I decided to move up to Alaska to pursue distance racing with the dream of running Iditarod. My partner Emily Ford and I spent the past three winters training and racing with Shameless Huskies Kennel in Alaska and finished the Iditarod along with many other races across the state. This year we relocated to Minnesota with our beloved pack dogs and started our own kennel which has been a long time coming. I’m really looking forward to racing in our home state this year. When not running dogs I work as an ER nurse in Two Harbors and Emily and I enjoy canoeing trips in the BWCA – yes of course we take all four of our house dogs!
