Ben Amat

Niles, MI

I come from Niles, Michigan, near the border with Indiana. I am currently a freshman at Michigan Tech, and I am studying Medical Lab Science, and planning on going to veterinary school after I graduate. Back at home my family has two dogs: Millie, a German Shorthaired Pointer, and Nala, a small Bichon. I would definitely love to teach Millie how to bikejor in the future, but I don’t think Nala would be quite strong enough! My other hobbies other than mushing include tennis and just hanging out with my friends. As for mushing specifically, I really love training up younger dogs that are new to running, and watching them progress as they get stronger and more confident. But at the core, I really just love being on a sled.
