Meet the 2023
Mushers

Brynn Santi

Manistique, MI

I currently attend Michigan Technological University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Biology with a minor in Pre-Vet and after graduating I will attend Michigan State to get a DVM. I am a part of the Mushing Club at Michigan Tech and I joined this past fall after meeting them at an orientation week event to see some of the clubs on campus. This will be my first race and I hope to come back again next year to run the 120. When I am not at the kennel or studying I enjoy being outdoors, playing rugby, and cooking.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START RUNNING SLED DOGS AND HOW OLD WERE YOU WHEN YOU STARTED?

I was shadowing at a vet clinic and I heard a few stories from a vet and a veterinary assistant. After going out to Otter River Kennels as a part of the Mushing Club at Michigan Tech I was hooked and I went out more to learn and work with their dogs. I was 18 when I started to run dogs and I plan to continue running my four years at Tech.
