I’ve always loved spending time around dogs. They wear their emotions on their sleeves… um…arms?…um… hairy legs I mean, rarely hold a grudge, and are not shy about being ridiculously happy in public (or doing really anything in public for that matter).
I grew up in southern WI, in a family that fostered a love for the outdoors. In 2014 I graduated from veterinary school and in 2017 I met my husband to be, Shawn, a musher whose dogs needed an inordinate amount of veterinary care for a few months. Shawn and I have a small kennel consisting of 21 working dogs and five couch dog potatoes. We started Hauling Dogs in 2021, our business, which involves freighting fisherman into the Boundary Waters Wilderness for winter camping and ice fishing trips.
This will be my first time running the Beargrease Marathon.
