I first got involved in running dogs with my fiance, now wife, as she started breeding Siberian Huskies under the registered kennel name Oakridgelane. My wife and children are also involved in showing and training our registered Siberian Huskies in dog shows. My wife also enjoys running the dogs in harnesses and racing shorter races. I enjoy outdoor activities like camping, canoeing, fishing, and playing hockey. I enjoy running with my dogs, for the peace and tranquility that I get out of it. I also enjoy the friendship with each dog that I have individually. It has always been a goal for me to run a major race like the Beargrease. I have run quite a few sprint and mid-distance races in my earlier years in Canada. Some races I competed in were: The Festival du Voyager, Eton Rugby Sled Dog Challenge and the Vermillion Bay Trappers festival.
