My name is Mary Manning, I live in Hovland, Minnesota. I live with my spouse and a kennel of about 35 dogs, which includes current racing and retired sled dogs. I have been running and training dogs since about 1997; we have competed in a variety of races off and on through those years. Over the years we have been able to race in Minnesota, Wisconsin, both peninsula’s of Michigan, Montana, and Maine. This will be our second attempt at the Beargrease Marathon, we are super excited to have the opportunity to race this year! I have been lucky to have mentors, both human and canine, that have guided my learning through the years and continue to teach me and help me to grow and learn. I love the challenge and adventure of training the dogs, helping them learn to work together, and watching them achieve their potential. My goals are to take the best care I can of my team, to have great races and great adventures-regardless of how we place, and to always appreciate my dogs who work so hard and give their all. When I am not running dogs I can be found working on my home, mountain biking, paddling, and doing anything that gets me outdoors.
