I was born in Oklahoma and lived an average life, working construction and pursuing hobbies. Then, when I was 20 I got an offer from Alaskan Icefield Expeditions to be a handler on their glacier camp in Skagway. It was no question, I left within a month and sold my car to get to Alaska the first time; leaving my mom and sister behind. There I learned how much I loved it, and when I met Clayton Perry’s dogs and knew they were the dogs I wanted to work with. After racing a season, and working a tour season as a musher, Alaskan Icefield Expeditions has sponsored me to race, and I thank them for helping us this season.

I read about arctic and Antarctic exploration, and it always fascinated me. When I was 20 I went to work for Alaskan Icefield Expeditions on the Juneau Icefield to run tours. While in Skagway I met Clayton Perry’s dogs and knew they were the ones I wanted to work with.
