I am in my third year at Michigan Technological University studying Materials Science and Engineering. I am in my third year in the Mushing Club at Michigan Tech. I have developed a passion for mushing over these past 3 years and truly have created a strong connection with not only the sled dogs but also other club members who will be my lifelong friends. I love working with the dogs and encouraging them to do the best they can while giving them as much love and support as possible. I owe this opportunity to Tom and Sally Bauer because they have not only taught me how to be a musher, but supported me and pushed me to be the best I can be along the way. I feel that through mushing I have grown as a person and learn to take on any challenges that come my way. This sport is truly amazing and I cannot wait to run my first race!
