After doing weight pulls with my malamutes I decided to get into some racing, and traded an old motorcycle for a team of huskies. My first year I raced at Antigo and the Madeline Island race, before it moved to shore and became the Apostle Islands race. Since then I’ve been racing 30 to 130 mile races including Beargrease 120, Empire 130, Wolftrack, Midnight Run, Jackpine, Northern Pines, Tahquomenon, St. Ignace. Mackinaw wilderness run, Mid Minnesota, and more. I am a semi retired high school math teacher, and thankful to have a wife who puts up with this nonsense

What a sled dog looks forward to most after a long day of racing is a nice bed of straw! But guess what happened at last year’s race? Someone stole all our straw right before the race start! Thankfully, great fans like you helped us out during the final hour to provide this vital supply for our amazing dogs.
